Verse 1:
Sitting in court for using the 44 criminal record was to much for the judge to ignore / Now he's facing time much more than he had before. Let's dig a little deeper in an effort to explore / The path of a young black male in this position. What could drive him crazy with no keys in the ignition / Ignored his intuition accepting a G's mission. Pressured by his peers to do it for recognition / This would not have happened if positive male influence, was present in his life that could guide what he was doing / The guys that he's pursuing and lies that they were using would turn this young truant to a life destined for ruin / But mix the insecurity with alcoholic fluid and what you get is an animal lashing out for amusement / His mother was abusive she made him pay for all the bad relationships with men who told her she was useless / He's got something to prove his complex is on Napoleon. No license for the car that he was Rollin in / Just then another misguided youth approaches him. Asks him if he's holding then passes him a note that says / Sorry in advance, the gun in his pants was loaded when he pulled it out and fired you could see the brothas soul ascend / Fled the scene and left the body for holy men, the case was only open 7 days before it closed for him / Stood before the judge cuffs kept his hands from opening knowing that he's never gonna step inside his home again / Freedom is something that this brotha will never know again, 25 to life is a sentence written for broken men / But he was only 10, there's simply no defense, and there was no suspense the jury had no intent / Of giving him his free, in his attempts to be something that he was not pretending ends in grief.
